The motorized wine bottle opener used to retail at $24.99, but the price has been slashed to $19.95 lately.

The Oster has to be plugged into the wall with an AC outlet and supposed to be charged 6 – 8 hours the first time before you use it. This is very common for most electrical appliances with a battery unit.

When the unit is not charged, you will see a red light on the base unit and on the top. When it is fully charged, the lights will turn white.

The back of the charging base has a cutter to remove the foil on the neck of the wine bottle. Very useful indeed!

When the foil is removed, take the Oster 4207 corkscrew off the charging base and position it on top of the bottle.

Next, press the “down button” and the motor will kick in. Here’s a tip. Hold to the wine bottle with your other hand. If not, the corkscrew will not go in and the bottle will spin instead.

In one movement, the corkscrew will drill into the cork, grab it and pull it out. Next, press the “up button” and it ejects the cork automatically. Easy as pie!

Can you open a bottle of wine without a corkscrew around? Yes you can but it does get a bit messy and dangerous.

The video above shows how can you open a wine bottle with a metal file and a hammer. The challenge is not to break the bottle entirely. Neither would you want to get bits of sharp glass in your wine.

Why would anyone want to open a wine bottle with a file and a hammer?

There are many reasons for doing so. You may not have a corkscrew in your kitchen or the cork is already broken and got stuck in the bottle. Some people will even do it just for the fun of it.

For those that are not so adventurous, it is best to buy a wine bottle opener. If you don’t know how to use the opener, the best option for you is to purchase an automatic wine opener.
I found an interesting YouTube video that shows you how to use a rabbit corkscrew wine bottle opener. As you can see from the video on top, the rabbit wine opener is manually operator. All you need to use it is your hand power.

The rabbit corkscrew is pretty simple to operate. All you have to do is remove the foil with a cutter, clamp the corkscrew handles around the neck of the wine bottle and then push and pull on the other handle. The cork will pop right out.

The rabbit corkscrew is easy to use if you have strong hands. As you can see from the video, it does require some brute force to hold on to the handles. The wine bottle also tends to slide around the table.

A woman with small hands may not be able to use it quite well. A better alternative is an automatic wine opener.

With an electric powered wine bottle opener, you let the motor supply the force to drill the corkscrew in and yank out the cork. The only force you have to exert is to hold the wine bottle steady and place the electric wine opener at the top of the wine bottom. Next, press the “operate” button and the device will do the rest. Simple as pie!
Similar to the 4207 model, the 4208 removes cork automatically with a one touch button.

The additional of the wine chiller is excellent because after you opened the bottle of wine, you can keep it flowing by the table without having rush to the kitchen to get it chill.

It’s convenient and portable, useful wherever your party is located – either in the living room, by the swimming pool or out by the back deck.

How much power can you get out to the Oster 4208?

On a single charge, the battery will be able to open up to 30 bottles of wine. That is more than enough wine for a small party with a couple of close friends at your home.

The stainless steel wine chiller that comes with the 4208 is capable of accommodating 1 bottle of wine at a time. The thermal insulating design will keep the wine cold for hours.

Similar to the 4207, the Oster 4208 also has an attached foil cutter at the base of the charging unit for easily removing the seal from the wine bottle. It’s comfortable soft-grip handle, and a sleek modern design adds a touch of sophistication and class to any party.

The Oster 4208 Inspire Electric Wine Opener with Wine Chiller is currently selling at $23.45 from Amazon.com. It is eligible for free Super Saver Shipping on orders over $25. Ever wonder how an automatic wine opener works?

It is very simple actually. Most electric wine openers are cordless device. It usually comes with a battery charging plug while the higher end units has its own display charging dock.

All automatic wine bottle openers in the market are very user friendly. What you have to do is hold it on top of the bottleneck and the device will do the rest.

You begin by using a blade or cutter to remove the foil or plastic covering the cork. Place the device on the bottle head and then press the “Open” button.

The electric motor will drive the corkscrew spiral automatically and pulling the cork out. When it is done, press the “Release” button the remove the cork. It is really that simple.

Check out the video above showing an electric wine opener in action. For a complete range of automatic wine opener from Amazon.com, click here.

If you are having difficulties on how to open a wine bottle with a corkscrew, check out the video above.

If you want the easy way out, get the “twist off” wine bottle. It’s very easy, all you do is twist open the cap.

Somehow, a twist off wine bottle does not have the feel of a traditional wine bottle with a cork. It feels more like a bottle of soda…

Here’s a tip. If you are wearing perfume on your wrist, it may not be a good idea for you to open the wine bottle.

You may accidentally touch the bottleneck with your perfumed hand and that may change the smell of the wine thus distorting its taste. Something for you to consider the next time you open a wine bottle with a corkscrew.

For a faster and simpler way to uncork a bottle of wine, check out the selection of automatic wine openers from Amazon.com.

Most of us enjoy either a bottle of red or white wine after a hard day’s work. We drink wine together with our food to enhance its taste and aroma.

Many people drink wine on a regular basis but most of them do not know how to use a wine opener the correct way. If you have guests over for food, uncorking the wine bottle properly is part of the whole dining experience.

What happens when you make a blunder when opening a bottle of wine?

Most probably you will make a mess and in the process embarrassing yourself and the host. If it is a major blunder, you might end up cutting your own fingers!

To open a bottle of wine correctly, start by using a blade to cut off the foil or plastic covering the cork. If this is the first time you are doing it, be very careful. One slip and you may end up with a nasty cut on your fingers.

When you are done, remember to close the blade and put it aside. If there is some wine spillage, wipe it clean with a damp napkin. The napkin can also be used to clean any dirt accumulated on the cork.

The next step is to use the corkscrew spiral. The metal spiral will actually go into the cork and act as the opener.

Before you twist in the corkscrew, hold the wine bottle at the neck with your non-dominant hand. Use your dominant or stronger hand to twist the corkscrew into the cork.

Twist the corkscrew down right in the middle. The key is to get the spiral go far enough so you will not tear the cork. Before you pull the cork out, hold the wine bottle close to your body for better support.

Slowly, pull the cork out until you hear a “pop” sound. Your wine is now ready to be served.
